And who’s behind Mister Habit?

Personal History

Behind Mister Habit is me, Joan—just like you, someone who has experienced life’s ups and downs and knows what it means to face challenges. My journey toward financial stability hasn’t been easy, and I want to share it with you because I know we can learn a lot from our experiences, especially the most difficult ones.

A few years ago, everything in my life changed suddenly. Life is unpredictable, and just when I needed stability the most, I found myself in a difficult situation. The same year I got married in Russia, my twin sons were born—two little ones who filled my life with love and responsibility. But a few months before all of this, the balance and peace of mind that came from working at the same company for over 10 years vanished. It was a bitter but valuable lesson that taught me that sometimes, the best thing to do is let go.

Suddenly, I found myself unemployed, with two very active babies demanding all my attention and no time to work for others. And the truth is, in those moments, without the help or support of an external network, anxiety became my daily companion. Those were years when I felt a constant weight in my stomach, a mix of fear and pressure that seemed never-ending.

However, there was one thing that kept me going: the good financial habits I had cultivated over the years. Thanks to them, I had a safety net—a small source of relief that gave me the strength to keep moving forward. Sticking to my habits, staying active, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle—even in the darkest moments—was what allowed me, little by little, to rebuild my life. Several years in the wilderness, filled with uncertainty, but also with learning and growth. It also allowed me to gradually build my career, adapting it to my children’s flexible schedule.

Today, when I look back, I feel grateful for those difficult years. They were tough times, and although I’ve since gone through other challenging moments, like a divorce, those experiences taught me how valuable perseverance is, how important it is to be prepared for the unexpected, and how a good habit can give you incredible strength.

I know what it feels like to be lost and overwhelmed, but I also know what it takes to bounce back. Because Mister Habit isn’t just a source of financial advice; it’s a reflection of the real-life experience of a person—with fears and dreams—who has learned to take control of their life and wants to share that knowledge with you in a relatable and authentic way.

Professional Experience

But, of course, life isn’t just about learning to survive; it’s also about learning to thrive. Over the years, I’ve invested a lot of time in educating myself and understanding how the world of finance works. I won’t lie to you: discipline has been—and still is—my best ally. Sometimes people joke that I’m a robot because of how strict I am with my habits, but the truth is, I don’t know any other way to do things that require consistency and persistence.

My career began at a web development company where I started as an intern. Over time, I worked my way up to become a partner in the company. For over ten years, I handled the company’s management and operations, optimizing processes, eliminating debt, and growing the company’s capital. I developed work and organizational systems from scratch, focusing my efforts on ensuring that every project not only met standards but also exceeded our clients’ expectations.

Along the way, I also had the opportunity to manage the accounting for a world champion, which was a unique challenge. Handling the finances of someone competing at the highest level taught me the importance of long-term planning and managing money under pressure. This experience reaffirmed that good financial habits are key not only in everyday life but also in high-performance sports environments.

Currently, through companies like Appen and Telus, I work indirectly on projects for Google, Microsoft, and Apple. In these roles, I serve as a quality controller, auditor, validator, QA specialist, and evaluator, which allows me to hone my analytical and management skills.

In addition, I also teach classes on stock market investing and personal finance management. Because, as the saying goes, when one teaches, two learn. This, combined with small consulting projects prior to the implementation of new features in apps and websites for banks and exchanges like BBVA, Revolut, and Kraken, as well as companies such as Wallapop, Aliexpress, Temu, and Pepsi, broadens my skill set. And since I’m a curious person, I’m always trying out new things with good friends.

I am constantly expanding my knowledge by investing in advanced courses on value investing, such as those taught by Alejandro Estebaranz or Jesús Arroyo’s Permanent Portfolio course. Some of my role models in the world of finance and investing who have had a profound influence on me are John Bogle, Harry Browne, and Peter Lynch. Additionally, Tyler from Portfolio Charts and his Golden Butterfly portfolio have helped me build the structure of my portfolio. All this knowledge and experience allows me to offer you a well-informed and balanced perspective on how to manage your finances.

If you’d like to learn more about my background and experience, I invite you to visit my LinkedIn profile, where you can see how this journey has led me to specialize in the analysis of financial products—and now, I want to share that knowledge with you. On this page, you’ll also find reviews from others who have already placed their trust in me.

How Mister Habit Can Help You

Mister Habit isn’t just another website full of numbers and complex charts that make you feel like you need a degree in economics to understand it. We’re not here to complicate your life, but to help you take control of your finances in a practical and accessible way—without empty promises or theories that sound nice but are useless in the real world. What you’ll find are tools and strategies that actually work, because I’ve already tested them in my own life, facing the same challenges you might be facing right now. The key here isn’t to reinvent the wheel, but to learn how to play within the system so it works in your favor.

Because let’s be honest: the rules of the financial game are there, whether we like it or not, and while it might sound tempting to rebel against them, the truth is that it’s much more effective to know them well and use them to your advantage. At Mister Habit, I’m not going to tell you to take on the system blindly; on the contrary, I’m going to show you how to follow the rules intelligently, without fear, and how to maximize every opportunity within that framework for your own benefit.

Best of all, you don’t need to be a financial expert to start making the most of your money. Here you’ll find clear and straightforward analyses of financial products, practical advice, and strategies designed to be applied directly to your daily life. This isn’t about magic formulas or empty promises that will make you rich overnight (if only it were that easy). It’s about building a solid plan that, with consistency and good habits, will give you results that are not only sustainable but also offer you security and peace of mind.

I know there’s a lot of misinformation out there, especially on a topic as complicated as finance. Sometimes it seems like the system is designed to confuse you, but not here. My commitment is to give you information you can actually use, backed by real research and life experience, not just theory. Patience is key, and the stock market, as they say, rewards the patient, not those looking for shortcuts.

So, if you want to understand how to manage your money without feeling like you’re fighting an invisible enemy, you’re in the right place. Mister Habit won’t give you a magic wand, but he will give you the tools you need to navigate the financial world with more confidence and knowledge. Because at the end of the day, the best trick isn’t to go against the system, but to understand it and make it work for you. There are no secrets or smoke and mirrors here: just clear strategies that work, grounded in reality and designed to help you take control of your financial future—without fear and with crystal-clear rules.

Commitment to Transparency

Transparency is the foundation upon which I build all of Mister Habit’s content. I know that trust must be earned, and I want you to know that you can rely on the information you find here. Plus, I have to be helpful and accountable to the gentlemen in the photo above. Lies have short legs, and in the world of finance, patience is a virtue that the stock market rewards generously. That’s why I commit to being clear and straightforward in every analysis I do.

I don’t work with intrusive ads or disguised promotions. When I talk about a financial product, I do so because I truly believe it can be useful to you. Affiliate agreements don’t influence my objectivity. No campaign forces me to speak well or poorly of their product. My commitment is to you and to helping you make informed decisions.

Your Trust Is Key

Your trust is what matters most to me. Mister Habit wouldn’t exist without it, which is why I strive every day to provide you with useful, transparent, and honest content. I want you to feel like you’re talking to someone who understands your concerns and is here to help you overcome them. And if I sometimes seem a little obsessed with habits and discipline, it’s only because I know they’re the key to achieving the financial and personal stability we’re all seeking.
